???? Practical Tips for Enhancing Mental Well-being
- Stay Socially Connected
Engaging with friends, family, or community groups can significantly boost your mood and sense of belonging. Consider joining local clubs, attending community events, or participating in group activities. Even a simple call to someone who brings you joy, can make a big difference. - Engage in Physical Activity
Regular exercise, such as walking, yoga, or gardening, can improve both physical health and mental clarity. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate activity most days of the week. Here at Ashton Place, we have exercise classes everyday for our residents to participate in. Not a resident with us, no problem! Our Silver Sneakers class is offered to the public every Thursday at 3:00 PM, we’d love to have you!
- Pursue Lifelong Learning
Keeping your mind active through reading, puzzles, or learning new skills can enhance cognitive function and provide a sense of accomplishment. We’re so glad our friends at the Clifton Springs Library provide our community with large print books in our own library. We love keeping puzzles around our building to give our residents an opportunity to pause, and enjoy in the peaceful activity. I stop by our puzzle stations often to clear my thoughts!
- Maintain a Balanced Diet
Eating a variety of nutritious foods supports overall health. Incorporate fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats into your meals.
